After the outstanding <em>The Story of OJ<\/em>, Mr. Carter is yet again on the \u201cwar path\u201d with an all-black remake of the american sitcom Friends.<\/p>\n<p>The controversial clip attacks the unrealistic, appalling whiteness of american TV shows and more generally, of the cinematographic industry and white popular culture in comparison with the uncelebrated world of black creatives.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"http:\/\/griotmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/griot-mag-friends-all-black-cast-jay-z-moonlight-screen-2-copia.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13978 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" alt=\"griot mag friends all black cast jay-z-moonlight-screen-2 copia\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13978\" src=\"http:\/\/griotmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/griot-mag-friends-all-black-cast-jay-z-moonlight-screen-2-copia.jpg\" alt=\"griot mag friends all black cast jay-z-moonlight-screen-2 copia\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\"><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Jay-z recalls the mistaken announcement of the best picture winner at this\u00a0year\u2019s Oscars, when\u00a0<em>La La Land<\/em> was named instead of <em>Moonlight<\/em>\u00a0by Barry Jenkins, chanting \u201cWe stuck in La La Land \/ Even if we win, we gonna lose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As usual the rapper has left nothing to chance, carefully choosing the cast for his video amongst the actors that are currently breaking and reshaping cliches on black Americans in popular TV shows.
