London! Quite And Down! MIA’s Meltdown Festival Is Here

London! Quiet and down! M.I.A. is about to make a huge sound with the 24th edition of Meltdown Festival.

Yes, you read well. After Yoko Ono, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Massive Attack and many other incredible icons, the British-Sri Lankan rapper is curating the upcoming edition of the festival which will be held at Southbank Centre on Friday 9 – Sunday 18 June.

In the video for her politically charged single Powa M.I.A. says “I’m not Rihanna, I’m not Madonna, I’m not Mariah or Ariana.” And if we add this to the fact that the festival’s lineup is banging, it is clear that she’s ready to fully show her powa and uniqueness once again.

Her statement is clear, “I’m bringing together new outlaw musicians from everywhere, who have contributed to keeping things weird, exciting, opinionated, loud, emotional and brave or off the grid in the present climate.”
Among these musicians feature Afrikan Boy, Tommy Genesis, Young Fathers, Yung Lean, MHD, Mykki Blanco, Dexta Dap and I Wayne, Crystal Castles, Young M.A and many other artists including M.I.A. herself.

Tickets sale opens today. Event Info and program here.
